What Does Pool Maintenance Actually Include?

Pool maintenance covers more than keeping the water looking clear. Every visit includes chemical testing and balancing, brushing walls and steps, skimming debris, vacuuming the floor, cleaning pump and skimmer baskets, checking pressure and equipment, and monitoring the filter. Done consistently, it also extends the life of your pool’s plaster, tile, and equipment – protecting the tens of thousands of dollars your pool represents.

Dallas summers are not forgiving. Temperatures above 100 degrees from June through September push chlorine levels down fast, and algae can take hold in as little as 24 to 48 hours once a pool goes untreated. That’s why most homeowners here run into problems trying to manage their pool themselves during peak summer months.

We handle all of it – every week, with a report sent after each visit so you know exactly what was done and how your water is reading.

Weekly Pool Cleaning Plans for Dallas Homeowners

Every pool is different, and the level of service you need depends on how often you use it, the time of year, and whether you’re looking for a recurring plan or a one-time visit. Here’s what we offer:

The Liquidus Pools Maintenance Process

Our cleaning regimen is comprehensive—here’s what you can expect:

01. Testing & Balancing Chemicals

Maintaining the delicate chemical balance in your pool is crucial for water quality and safety. We test and adjust chlorine, pH, alkalinity, water hardness, and stabilizer levels to keep your pool water clear and safe for swimming.

02. Brushing

Algae and other contaminants can quickly attach to your pool’s walls and steps. Our team provides regular and thorough brushing to ensure the health and beauty of your pool’s plaster.

03. Skimming and Leaf Removal

We skim everything – leaves, bugs, pollen, anything that makes it in. A clogged skimmer basket is usually the first sign a pool’s about to have problems.

04. Vacuuming

Sediment at the bottom of your pool is an eyesore and a breeding ground for issues. Our vacuuming service keeps the floor spick and span.

05. Pump & Skimmer Basket Cleaning

Baskets full of debris mean poor water circulation in your pool. We are proactive about emptying pump and skimmer baskets, ensuring unobstructed water flow.

06. Pressure and Equipment Checks

Equipment problems are almost always cheaper to catch early. We check pump pressure and system performance every visit – if something looks off, we flag it in your service report before it turns into a repair. If we spot signs of a leak, we’ll let you know – and our pool leak detection service can handle it from there.

07. Filter Cleaning

Your pool filter works hard collecting debris and keeping your water clean and clear. Our team will monitor your filter and schedule regular cleanings throughout the year to make sure your pool keeps running smoothly.

08. Algae Removal

While prevention is the ultimate goal, our team has the expertise and supplies to eradicate any and all algae, restoring your pool’s beauty with precision and speed.

Pool Maintenance Questions from Dallas Homeowners

Liquidus offers three plans for Dallas homeowners, starting at $224/month for the Star Service Plan. The Premium Plan starts at $232/month and includes fixed costs for both service and chemicals, with a yearly membership. The Ultimate Plan runs $532/month and covers two visits per week March through November, 24-hour response time (except Sundays), and all specialty chemicals included.

What you actually pay depends on your pool size, how often you want service, and whether you’re managing chemical costs separately or want everything locked in. If you’ve been trying to DIY your chemicals and running into balance issues, the Premium Plan’s fixed chemical cost tends to be a better deal than it looks on paper.

To get an exact quote for your pool in Dallas, Plano, Frisco, or anywhere else in DFW, you can fill out our quick quote form and we’ll follow up same day.

Every recurring service visit covers the full list: testing and adjusting chemicals (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, hardness, and stabilizer), brushing the walls and steps, skimming debris, vacuuming the floor, emptying pump and skimmer baskets, checking pressure and equipment, monitoring the filter, and treating any algae growth if needed.

After the visit, you’ll get an email report with photos and your pool’s chemical readings. That way you know exactly what was done and how your pool is looking even if you weren’t home.

We also handle filter cleaning separately throughout the year at membership pricing, so your filtration system stays in good shape without extra scheduling on your end.

Dallas summers are rough on pools. With temperatures regularly hitting 100+ degrees from June through September, your pool’s chemical balance shifts fast. Algae can bloom in 24 to 48 hours when chlorine drops even slightly during a heat wave.

For most homeowners, weekly service is the right call March through November. That’s not a sales pitch — it’s just what the heat demands. During December through February, we drop to biweekly visits on our Premium Plan, which still keeps your pool in good shape through the cooler months without over-servicing.

If you’re away a lot, or your pool gets heavy use from kids or guests, weekly service also prevents the kind of catch-up treatments that end up costing more than consistent maintenance would have.

A few weeks of no service during summer in Dallas and you’re looking at cloudy water at minimum — and a full algae bloom at worst. We’ve seen pools go from clean to completely green in under two weeks during a hot stretch in July.

When that happens, getting it back to swimmable takes a shock treatment, multiple rounds of algaecide, a filter backwash or cleaning, and a few follow-up balance checks. That process takes longer and costs more than two months of regular maintenance.

If you’re coming back from a trip and your pool has been sitting, our one-time deep clean service is designed for exactly that situation. No commitment needed — just schedule it, and we’ll get things back on track before your next weekend.

This is one of the most common complaints people have about pool service companies, and honestly, it’s a fair one. Most companies don’t give you anything after a visit.

After every Liquidus service visit, you’ll receive an email report that includes photos from your pool and your actual chemical readings. You can see what the chlorine, pH, and alkalinity levels were when we left. If something needs attention, that note goes in the report too — so you’re not finding out about a problem when it’s already expensive.

That report system is one of the main reasons customers who switch to us from other companies tend to stay. It’s not complicated — it’s just accountability. You should know exactly what you’re paying for, every single week.
